Turkey Meatloaf Recipe Hints and Suggestions
- A one ounce package of Lipton golden onion recipe soup and dip mix is called for in this recipe. Regular Lipton onion soup mix can also be used.
- Italian style breadcrumbs are seasoned with Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion powder and garlic powder. Plain breadcrumbs can be used in place of the seasoned breadcrumbs if desired.
- To prepare the glass pan, either spray the bottom and sides with non-stick cooking spray, or use a paper towel to spread a bit of margarine around the bottom and sides. Properly preparing the pan will help prevent the meatloaf from sticking to the bottom and sides.
- Ground beef can be substituted for the ground turkey in this meatloaf recipe if desired.
- Meat lovers can try using a mixture of ground beef, veal and pork, in place of the ground turkey.
- Do not over mix the meatloaf, or an overly dense meatloaf will result.
- Substitute ketchup for the tomato sauce for a more traditional flavored meatloaf.
- To make BBQ turkey meatloaf, substitute BBQ sauce for the tomato sauce.
